- Inform
USDA-CSREES on actions taken by the NERA Directors. Done
- ED-T.
Fretz will bring up issue on NASULGC assessments at the next conference
call with NASULGC. Done. Briefed NASULGC on the concerns held by the NE
Directors on current and future assessments.
- ED-T.
Fretz will raise issue at the AHS meeting next week, NERA's consensus to
seek restitution from AESOP of the lobbying penalty paid by ESCOP. Brought
up the issue of restitution with the directors at the Summer Joint COP’s
Meeting. General conscience was that this was not an avenue that the deans
and directors wished to pursue. General feeling of the Directors’ was one
of support, however few felt that anything positive could come from
pursuing restitution. Guidelines are in place to monitor lobbying
activities and to prevent such occurrences in the future.

with Alma Hobbs the CSREES Report to be included in the Minutes.

- Create
an ED message board in the NERA homepage to be used by T. Fretz for
sharing information to the directors. Done
- Assist
the Nominations Committee in filling up the following positions:

Representative to the Executive Board of the Northeastern Regional
Aquaculture Center
Steve Goodwin has been
appointed.
Two new members appointed,
William Vinson (WV) and Keith Cooper (NJ).
- NERA
Representative to the NRSP Review Committee
Keith Cooper to serve as the NE
representative to the NRSP Review Committee.
- Post
on the NERA webpage the schedule of future meetings and send e-mail to all
directors. Done
- Prepare
for the NERA meeting on September 22, 2003 (8am-12pm) at the Ritz-Carlton
Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan. Done
